What is the Sacred Shedding?

The Sacred Shedding is a 7-day Wachuma and Shadow Work Retreat designed for People of Color who are ready to release the stories, emotions, and protective patterns that no longer serve them.

This is not a vacation. It is a carefully held transformational experience rooted in Indigenous Andean traditions, shadow work, yoga, and community.

Through ancient Andean ceremony, Wachuma (San Pedro), yoga, shadow work, ritual, and community, participants gently explore the emotions we've been taught to silence.

  • Shame
  • Guilt
  • Anger
  • Grief

The retreat is designed to help participants understand these emotions, work with them safely, and return home with practical tools for continued healing.

Sacred Shedding Peru
Wachuma San Pedro

What is Wachuma?

Wachuma, also known as San Pedro, is a sacred cactus medicine native to the Andes. It has been used for thousands of years by Indigenous Andean healers and is known as Grandfather Medicine.

Unlike medicines that can feel overwhelming or disorienting, Wachuma is considered gentle, grounding, expansive, and heart-opening. It tends to reveal truth through love, presence, and connection rather than force.

Wachuma supports healing by bringing awareness to emotional patterns, unresolved grief, shame, and guilt, not by bypassing them, but by illuminating them with care.

When paired with shadow work, Wachuma creates a container for release, clarity, and deep self-trust. The medicine and the practices work together. The result is not transformation forced upon you, it is transformation remembered within you.

Participation in plant medicine ceremony is always optional. You will be fully supported whether or not you choose to drink.

Sacred Valley Peru

Why Peru?

There is no better place to engage this work than the Sacred Valley. Surrounded by mountains, rivers, and ancient traditions, you will be immersed in an environment that naturally supports shedding and renewal.

Peru is the birthplace of Wachuma, where this sacred medicine has been tended and protected by Indigenous healers for thousands of years. The land itself is alive with memory. Each mountain a protector, each river a teacher, each stone carrying stories of resilience and reverence.

To walk here is to walk with the ancestors. To sit in ceremony here is to return to a lineage that has always known how to live in relationship with the earth.

The Sacred Valley is not only breathtaking in its beauty, it is also a mirror for transformation: expansive, humbling, and deeply rooted. Healing here becomes both deeply personal and deeply ancestral.

You are ready to shed

  • You are a Person of Color ready to engage your healing in community
  • You are willing to slow down and be present with what's unresolved
  • You are curious about plant medicine and open to ceremony
  • You want to understand the emotions you've been taught to silence
  • You are seeking integration, not escape or peak experiences
  • You can show up with honesty, accountability, and care for the group
  • You are open to both ancestral wisdom and modern shadow work practices

Please read carefully

  • You are not a Person of Color
  • You are in active mental health crisis or require clinical support
  • You are on medications contraindicated with Wachuma (heart, blood pressure, psychiatric)
  • You are looking for a quick fix or breakthrough experience
  • You are unwilling to engage with group agreements, consent, and emotional accountability
  • You are not able to commit to the pre-retreat preparation container

This vetting process protects you and the group. It ensures that when we gather in Peru, everyone is prepared, resourced, and ready to do this work together.

What makes this different

01

Three Shadow Work Facilitators

You will not navigate this alone. Three experienced facilitators hold the space together, ensuring no participant falls through the cracks during integration or ceremony.

02

Indigenous Andean Healers

The ceremonies are led by Indigenous Andean healers who carry this lineage with integrity. The medicine is held in its proper cultural context, not extracted from it.

03

Trauma-Informed Throughout

Every element of this retreat is designed with nervous system awareness and trauma-informed principles. You will never be pushed beyond your capacity.

04

People of Color Only

This space is designed specifically for and by People of Color. The container holds ancestral wounds, collective grief, and cultural specificity that a mixed space cannot.

05

Shadow Work Before, During and After

Ceremony without preparation is incomplete. Shadow work without integration is unsustainable. This retreat holds the full arc: preparation, experience, and return.

06

Medicine Is Always Optional

Participation in Wachuma ceremony is always your choice. You will be fully supported, welcomed, and included regardless of whether you choose to drink.

What people carry home

This is not a highlight reel. These are real moments spoken as they were lived, by people who showed up, did the work, and left differently.

"This is a safe space, a sacred space. I have not been able to find this type of community anywhere else."

Dia

"You're more than a teacher. You're a guide of every kind. There is not something like this anywhere else."

Monica

"Vulnerability, openness, and truth has to be at the forefront, because that is what she helps you bring out so that you can create it in this world."

Kenisha

"I just thought I was going to come here and do yoga. But the exchange. We danced, we laughed. Life was happening the way it should. Just curated."

Dr. Ashley

"Every single time we've met, I've walked away and lived my life a little differently, a little better. Life feels less heavy. It feels hopeful."

Diana

"I came because of a relationship. I left having found myself. That's not something I expected to say, but it's the truest thing I can offer."

Bryan

"She held space for every version of what we each needed. Guided gently and forcefully. Your heart is going to change in ways you didn't know it needed to."

Monica

"I finally let go. And something new and beautiful entered into my life. A new version of myself is emerging, or maybe the version that was always there, finally resurfacing."

Glaiza

Shedding is not
the end of you.

It is the becoming of who you've always been. Come sit in this sacred valley, where your shadows will be welcomed, your stories honored, and your heart reminded that you are safe to let go.
