Dr. Sanaa Jaman
Dr. Sanaa Jaman is a writer, educator, and experienced yoga teacher whose work centers on emotional understanding, embodied practice, and integration over time.
She is a 500-hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) with a background in science, education, and intentional teaching. Her work bridges analytical thinking and embodied awareness, supporting people in understanding patterns, staying present with themselves, and making changes that last.
Her Path
Sanaa was born and raised in Kuwait, where she developed an early love for mathematics and problem-solving. As a teenager navigating depression, anxiety, and instability, structure became a lifeline. That same relationship to clarity later shaped both her academic path and her embodied work.
She earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Sciences from the University of Florida. While her academic training sharpened her ability to observe systems and patterns, yoga became the place where emotional awareness and lived experience could be integrated more fully. Her yoga practice began in 2013 and quickly became more than physical movement, it became a way of learning how to stay present, regulate the nervous system, and relate to herself with honesty.
Teaching, Training, and Community Work
In 2014, Sanaa completed her first yoga teacher training. By 2015, she launched #DorkTour, a nationwide workshop series focused on making yoga and emotional awareness more accessible especially for those who had never felt seen in traditional wellness spaces.
Over the past decade, she has trained teachers, developed curricula, and facilitated learning spaces across the U.S. and internationally, including Peru, Morocco, Indonesia, South Africa, Costa Rica, Kuwait, and beyond.
She is the founder of Tru3 Yoga, where her work focuses on education, skill-based practice, and responsible teaching rooted in real bodies and real lives.
How She Works
Sanaa’s work sits at the intersection of movement, reflection, and emotional literacy. Instead of centering big emotional moments or quick shifts, her approach emphasizes:
Understanding emotional and relational patterns
Staying present during discomfort
Integrating insight into daily life
Moving at a pace that supports lasting change
Her teaching style is steady, relational, and grounded. She does not position herself as a healer or fixer, but as an educator and guide; offering clear frameworks, thoughtful inquiry, and well-contained spaces for learning.
Business & Consulting Background
In addition to her teaching and writing, Sanaa works with founders, educators, and facilitators in the wellness and learning space on the practical side of building sustainable, well-structured offerings.
Her consulting focuses on helping people move from ideas to clear, grounded execution without overextending themselves or losing the integrity of their work.
She supports:
Program and curriculum design
Retreat and training structure
Offer clarity, scope, and sequencing
Sustainable business and systems thinking
This work draws on her combined experience as a researcher, educator, business owner, and program builder. The emphasis is not on scaling quickly, but on building things that can actually be held over time.
